Make-up artists apply different high end products (Olay, Pantene, Clairol, Covergirl) to their clients during the Essence Festival.
LEARN:
This is a tough image because of the interesting lighting and the black coat on the subject. A camera will try to auto correct everything to gray scale, meaning what is black is made lighter to make it gray and what is white (such as snow) is made darker to get it to gray. To compensate for this, a photographer must make the appropriate adjustments in real time or afterwards in photo editing software. Setting the focus of the camera (metering) to something that is not black will help with auto-correct, however, the wrong subject may be in focus. This image was captured almost as is with additional contrast added to give it a popping feel.
